In this lesson, we'll cover the fundamental reason for choosing Blogger as our free hosting platform and guide you through the initial setup process. By the end of this module, you'll have a blank Blogger account, ready for our custom template.

Getting Started: Creating Your Blog
Follow these simple steps to set up your new blog. This is the first step in our journey to creating a professional, custom website for free!

Step 1: Sign in to Blogger
Go to the official Blogger website (www.blogger.com) and sign in using your Google account. If you don't have one, you'll be prompted to create one first. Don't worry, it's free and easy.

Step 2: Create a New Blog
Once you're signed in, you'll see your Blogger dashboard. Click on the "New Blog" button. You'll need to choose a title for your blog (e.g., "My Custom Website") and a URL address (e.g., yourname.blogspot.com). The URL can be anything you like, as long as it's available.

Step 3: Choose a Default Theme
Blogger will ask you to choose a theme. It doesn't matter which one you pick, as we will be replacing it with our sacred seed template in the next module. Just select any of the basic themes to continue.

Step 4: Confirm Your Blog is Created
After clicking 'Create Blog', you'll be redirected to your new blog's dashboard. You're all set! We now have the foundation we need to begin our custom website journey.
